70 Years

2024 marks the 70th anniversary of Pediatric services at Kelowna General Hospital. Dr. Cliff Henderson was the first Pediatrician to join Kelowna General Hospital in 1954 and laid the foundation for pediatric care in the region. His exceptional contribution to pediatric medicine and medical education was recognized with the opening of the Clifford B Henderson Library at KGH in 2010. Over the past 70 years the department has grown to a staff of 12 General Pediatricians and a Neonatologist. As one of Canada’s fastest growing cities, the department continues to expand and evolve in order to provide exceptional  pediatric care to the children in the Okanagan.
